The Jenny Lind Children's Hospital is seeking a fixed term 8PA consultant in paediatric medicine to support the paediatric service.
The post is available from August 2024 for 6 months in the first instance.
Successful applicant will provide 1:8 on-call to the acute paediatric service including and support the inpatient services and outpatient paediatric activity.

Main duties of the job
The 8PA post comprises 6.75 direct clinical care and 1,25 SPA. Acute paediatric services are delivered by a team of consultants working across children's emergency department, children's assessment unit and inpatient wards. This post will have a 1:8 Consultant of the week commitment and will have regular sessions on CAU though any additional sessions may be available on an ad hoc basis if the successful applicant is interested.
The successful applicant will work with colleagues in paediatric medicine and will liaise with other specialities to support inpatient and outpatients at NNUH. They will undertake clinics, ward reviews and ward rounds with other team members to support inpatients. This post will provide an opportunity for developing further skills and expertise subject to the needs of the service and interest of appointee.
The Acute paediatrics and paediatric medicine on-call are delivered by a team of consultants working across children's emergency department, children's assessment unit and inpatient wards.
This post will have acute general Paediatric on call commitments and general Paediatric clinics including under 2's clinic.

- Full GMC Registration
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via: o CCT in General paediatrics
- MRCPCH or equivalent
Desirable
- Higher degree such as MD, MSc or PhD.
Experience

- Applicants who are Nationals from another European country or elsewhere overseas would have to show equivalence to the 5 years training period in the National Health Service required.
- EPLS or APLS certification
- Training to level 3 safeguarding and experience of safeguarding at Specialist Registrar or Consultant level.
