Major Recruitment is currently seeking Nuclear Mechanical Design Engineers at all levels to join our prestigious client on numerous long-term projects, expected to last over 10 years. Our client, a leading well-known supplier to the UK's nuclear industry and a global presence, is offering exceptional opportunities across the entire nuclear life cycle.
Day to day, you could be creating cutting-edge designs, leading on project delivery, or providing solutions to our many clients. This will be be instrumental in supporting various key sectors in the United Kingdom, such as nuclear decommissioning, power generation, new construction, and defence. This position ensures the growth, sustainability, and security of these vital industries.
Hybrid: 3 days working in the office and 2 days working from home.
Location: Warrington based office.
We are currently recruiting for the following positions: (inside IR35)
Principal Engineer (£62.40ph)
Senior Engineer (£57.20ph)
Engineer (£52ph)
Senior Designer/ Technician (£46.80ph)

Main responsibilities may include:
Foster Effective Collaboration: Promote seamless cooperation across Engineering and various functional teams.
Customer Management Support: Contribute to the effective management of customers by facilitating communication and building relationships with both existing and new clients. This support aids in business development, resolving technical and delivery issues, and ensuring that customers are well-informed about project progress.
Application of Standards: Ensure that procedures, codes, and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities.
Adherence to Engineering Standards: Similarly, ensure that procedures, codes, and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities.
Project Safety: Contribute to the Project Safety Assessment process.
Risk Management: Ensure that task and project risks are communicated and managed effectively.
Technical Documentation: Produce, review, and approve calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation, and technical reports as assigned.
Change Assessment: Evaluate the implications of changes, concessions, and queries.
Engineering Configuration: Maintain the engineering configuration, ensuring that the overall design intent and integrity are maintained throughout the design lifecycle.
Problem Solving: Evaluate technical issues to develop proposals for investigations and solutions, including process improvements.
Project Support: Provide support to the Project Manager in planning, controlling, and delivering tasks and projects.
Engineering Decisions: Make engineering decisions within your designated sphere of responsibility and delegated authority.
Technical Leadership: Act as Technical Authority or Engineering Lead when authorized to do so.
Safety and Ethical Standards: Ensure the application of the highest standards for health and safety within your immediate area of responsibility and ensure that all team members across engineering adhere to company standards related to health, safety, environment, ethics, and behaviours.
Continuous Learning: Stay up to date in relevant technical areas and develop the skills and capabilities necessary for effective delivery. Maintain knowledge of industry best practices, promote a culture of engineering excellence, and support the cultural development and change.
Learning from Experience: Contribute to the learning from experience (LfE) requirement, both during and after a project.
Business Development Support: Support business development opportunities.
Health and Safety Compliance: Exercise care for your own health and safety and that of others as defined by Health and Safety legislation. Adhere to endorsed company policies, procedures, and delegations (e.g., Health & Safety, Diversity & Inclusion, Performance & Development Reviews, and Finance, etc.). Ensure the application of the highest standards for health and safety in your immediate area of responsibility and ensure individual cooperation with respect to company standards related to health, safety, and environment, ethics, and behaviours.
Tender Review: Support the business winning process by providing input into or reviewing tender requirements, including estimates.
Experience/Qualifications/Skills:
Essential:
Proven ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, delivering activities across a variety of project types.
Demonstrated experience in tackling a wide range of tasks, spanning different levels of complexity.
Strong communication skills and the capability to interface effectively with professionals from other disciplines.
You are someone who owns and delivers, who champions high performance and is courageous to challenge the status quo.
A degree in engineering (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant engineering discipline, complemented by substantial demonstrable experience.
Strong knowledge of CAD tools and General Engineering Drawing Practice.
Qualifications:
BEng/MEng: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering.
Chartered status (preferred but not essential)
At least 3 years' experience working on nuclear projects.
UK Driving License: A valid UK driving license is necessary.
British Passport: You must possess a British passport.
Right to Work: You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
