Here you will work within the Systems Team to analyse system concepts; define requirements; create and document the system design and interfaces; define and manage subsystem requirements; and verify / validate the system to ensure it fulfils the Customer's requirements and needs.Key Responsibilities as a Systems Engineer, being part of a multi-disciplinary team:Define and describe the Technical Solution during bids. Support cost estimationDefine and manage system and subsystem requirementsManage trade studies to evaluate different potential design solutionsContribute to the System Design, through functional and non-functional analysisDefine the Integration, Verification and Validation strategy and manage this through the programContribute to test and certification of the productPlay a role in technical / design reviewsSupport the continuous improvement of the Systems Engineering function, including processes and toolsQualifications as a Systems EngineerBachelor's Degree in Maths, Physics, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experienceMaster's Degree an assetRequired ExperienceSystems engineering experience in the earlier part of the product life cycle.Experience completing Work package responsibilitiesMust have some pre and post requirements experience collaborating with Design and SDAsParticipated in multiple System Design ReviewsRequirements Definition, Requirements Management and Interface DesignDeveloped the System Design for multiple programsAware of Algorithm Definition and Validation e.g. through use of tools like MatlabExperience in Integration, Verification and Validation activities, including Test Planning, Test Conduct and ReportingSystems Engineering Process DefinitionHold Security clearance at SC level or eligibility to obtain itDesired SkillsMaritime Domain (desirable)Underwater Warfare, Torpedo Defence or Acoustics (desirable)Able to work within an interdisciplinary team and manage the perspectives of other disciplinesAble to contribute to the Concept of Operations in which systems are usedRequirements Definition and Management, including experience with a requirements management tool such as DOORs or JAMAAble to identify the need for, and conduct trade studies to evaluate different potential solutionsAble to play a significant role in defining the System Design, through functional and non-functional analysisA team-oriented individual that works collaboratively to achieve team goalsStrong communication skills; positive attitudeMust be self-motivated, adaptable, and attentive to detailsAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a deadline-oriented environment
