CDIO is HMRC's Digital, Data and Information Technology (IT) function, ensuring HMRC has the IT systems and processes to run and deliver its services.
As part of the Financial, Reporting and Control Division you will play a crucial role in delivering a trusted and high-performing finance function that drives informed decision-making across the organisation.
Job description
As a Strategic Financial Planning Senior Officer within the CDIO Finance division, you will be responsible for supporting the annual business planning process, taking the lead on key areas. Your expertise will be invaluable in supporting spending reviews, 5-year rolling financial planning, and serving as the subject matter expert for specific areas.
You will ensure rigorous interrogation and challenge of financial data, conducting detailed analyses to provide important insights.
Additionally, you will prepare comprehensive reports and templates for data collation and submission, supporting cost reduction initiatives and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with central finance colleagues and Finance Business Partners. This multidimensional role demands excellent analytical skills, the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights, and a strategic approach to navigate a culture of change.
Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills are essential, enabling you to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organisation. Furthermore, you will demonstrate the ability to think strategically, work comfortably with risk, and champion HMRC's commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Key activities include:

  • Accountancy qualification (CCAB or equivalent) or actively pursuing one.

Desirable Criteria:
  • Previous experience in a similar financial planning or analysis role.
  • Previous experience of working within or supporting an IT organisation from a finance perspective.

Personal Statement
As part of the selection process, you will be asked to complete a Personal Statement (maximum 500 words) which should demonstrate how you meet the overall requirements and essential criteria for this role.
Sift

Interview
