Environmental Consents Manager

The role:
Lead the process of acquiring consents, in a timely manner to ensure that they are available in advance of construction programme needs.
Proactively manager relationships with each Consent Granting Body (CGB) to assist the consenting process.
Promote in-house awareness of consent requirements, the associated timeframes and compliance with them.
* Lead the process of Identifying and obtaining all Consents required for the project.
* Proactively manage relationships with Consent Granting Bodies to understand and progress the submission processes, inform the CGBs about project demands.
* Manage the preparation of consents applications for submission in line with programme
* Provide feedback to commercial and delivery teams regarding consenting and U&A requirements
* Ensure maintenance of Consents Register and provide clear performance information on the progress with consents.
* Ensure project wide awareness of consent needs and compliance with them
* Ensure recording of all communications with third parties as evidence to assist consent process
* Ensure appropriate resources are available for the Consents Team to function efficiently
* Liaise with Senior Management Team to secure specialist resource as necessary to aid the consenting process
* Demonstrate the BBV behaviours
* Collaborate as necessary with CGB's, HS2 and in-house teams
* Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm
The following qualities/experience are essential:
* Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects
* Knowledge and experience of civil engineering practices, methods and techniques
* Understanding of working to programmes and critical paths
* Knowledge of UK planning processes and CGB requirements.
* Experience of securing Consents and ensuring compliance within construction / infrastructure context.
* Good communication skills
* Construction related degree or equivalent qualification and experience
The following qualities/experience are desirable:
* Membership of a construction based professional organisation.
* Proactive approach
* Developed teamworking skills
