About the team:

The Gold team is responsible for processing gold and high-value jewellery for auction and trade sale. Because of the nature of the team, handling valuable stock, we collaborate closely with one another, passing tasks between team members to achieve overall department goals.

Our team members have a great depth of knowledge in antique and vintage jewellery, and we are all passionate about the subject. The department is full of daily discoveries and learning opportunities because antique jewellery often comes with fascinating stories to tell.

About the role:

This is a new role within the Gold and Precious Metals department, reporting to the Head of Fine Jewellery and Precious Metals. You’ll be joining a growing department that aims to enhance team efficiency and support broader business objectives.

Key goals and objectives:

• Increase the volume of high-value stock listed on selling platforms and with our auction partners.

• Improve the accuracy of stock listings.

• Collaborate with the team to implement new listing strategies and procedures for maximising revenue and streamlining workloads.

In your first three months you will:

• Familiarise yourself with the inventory management systems, listing tools, guidelines and procedures.

• Coordinate with team members to streamline listing processes.

In your first six months you will:

• Take ownership of stock listings for specific auction houses.

• Implement improvements to streamline listing processes and increase efficiency.

In your first year you will:

• Collaborate with other teams to integrate listing processes for a seamless workflow.

Key responsibilities:

• According to current auction guidelines, list precious metals, gold and other high-value stock on selling platforms.

• Assist in listing all high-value auction stock onto sheets and other product management tools/ platforms for each individual auction house.

• Collaborate with team members to optimise department efficiency and revenue generation.

• Process returns, facilitating stock rework or relisting when necessary.

• Work with other departments when necessary to ensure all listings created are distributed to the correct areas.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of stock inventory and auction schedules.

Essential skills and experience:

• A knowledge of precious metals, vintage, antique gold and/ or jewellery would be hugely beneficial to the role.

• Experience using Excel to track and record figures, with strong numeracy and data entry skills.

• Good attention to detail.

• Previous experience with security procedures of high-value stock.
