Our client, a leading organisation based in Birmingham, is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Employee Relations Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with a passion for ensuring positive employee relations within the workplace.
As an Employee Relations Advisor, you will be responsible for providing specialist HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on a range of employee relations matters. Your main focus will be on fostering a positive work environment, promoting healthy working relationships, and championing fairness and compliance with employment legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing expert advice and support to managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinary and grievance issues.
Investigating and resolving complex employee relations cases, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement effective policies, procedures, and practises.
Supporting managers in conducting effective performance management and capability procedures.
Working closely with the HR team to ensure compliance with employment law and best practise.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with trade union representatives.
Collaborating on collective bargaining agreements and providing guidance on industrial relations matters.
Delivering training and workshops to managers and employees on employee relations topics.
Keeping up-to-date with changes in employment law and sharing knowledge with the HR team.
Skills and Experience:
Proven experience as an Employee Relations Advisor or similar role, with a deep understanding of employment law and HR best practise.
Strong experience in dealing with trade unions and developing positive working relationships with union representatives.
Solid understanding of employee relations principles, procedures, and practises.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
Ability to handle complex and sensitive employee relations cases with discretion and confidentiality.
Proactive approach, with the ability to solve problems and make sound decisions.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
CIPD qualification is essential.
Our client offers a competitive salary ranging from £35,000 to £45,000 per year, depending on experience. Alongside this, there are a range of benefits and development opportunities available.
