Our technically advanced client is a leader in quantum computing. Through best-in-class software, they are scaling the sector, driving growth and advancing the laws of quantum physics. They now have an excellent opportunity for a Cloud Engineer to join their world-class organisation.

Cloud Engineer responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver cloud infrastructure and application services for the quantum computing platform
  • Collaborate with research and software teams to enhance platform usability and reliability
  • Deploy software to cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
  • Participate in and lead engineering discussions and decision-making processes
  • Optimize and maintain cloud-based systems
  • Ensure the platform meets user needs from concept to implementation
  • Continuously improve cloud deployment processes

Cloud Engineer requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (2:1 or higher) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Science, or Engineering
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Proficiency in Python or Modern C++
  • Experience deploying software to AWS or Azvure
  • Familiarity with Terraform or other IaC tools
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or similar database technologies
  • Ability to work with or desire to learn Rust
  • Strong leadership skills in engineering discussions and decision-making
  • Experience with Kubernetes (preferred)
  • Interest in Quantum Computing (preferred)
  • Knowledge of common distributed system architectures (preferred)
  • Experience developing in TypeScript (preferred)
