Locum Commercial Contracts/Construction Lawyer – Full Time or Part Time – Up to £60 per hour umbrella – Remote Working – Initial 3+ months Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts/Construction Lawyer to join a Local Authority on an initial 3-month assignment . The position offers remote working and provides an excellent opportunity to support a busy legal team on a varied range of commercial and construction matters. The Role: Position: Locum Commercial Contracts/Construction Lawyer Duration: Initial 3 months with the possibility for extension Rate: Up to £60 per hour umbrella Working Pattern: Full Time or Part Time Duties will include: • Drafting and advising on JCT and NEC construction contracts • Drafting and advising on grant funding agreements and contracts for services • Advising on framework call-offs , including Crown Commercial Service and SCAPE frameworks • Providing advice on Contract Procedure Rules (CPRs) and governance , including reviewing officer reports • Offering ad hoc advice on issues such as debt recovery , procurement challenges , and contractual disputes Ideal Candidate: • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with recent local government or public sector experience • Strong knowledge of commercial, procurement, and construction law • Proven experience drafting and negotiating complex contracts and framework agreements • Excellent communication and advisory skills, with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving For further information, or to apply for this role, please contact Phoebe Maries or Ebby Vallance on or email Job Reference: J91115 Venn Group is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all candidates.
