A proprietary trading firm and alternative investment manager with a primary focus in quantitative and fundamental sports trading; they combine research and proprietary tech-driven methodologies to trade on all major public exchanges and markets to generate risk adjusted returns.

About the role

The successful quantitative researcher candidate will join the London solutions team, developing mathematical, statistical, and AI models and high-performance algorithms to predict the outcome of sporting events with a predominant focus on horse racing.

You will work on:

Developing outcome-oriented trading strategies and statistically backtest their performancenEffectively communicate results with clarity and efficiency to traders and other colleagues.nWork closely with data scientists and quantitative developers to design and implement mid-high frequency trading strategies for the public sports exchangesnYou will be using Python for Quantitative and Data Science focused tasks such as the production of new strategiesnAcquire data from multiple data sources, filtering, cleaning and wrappingnIdentify, analyse and interpret trends or patterns in complex data set

About you

Academic background in Computer Science, Maths or similar STEM discipline, ideally to Masters of PhD levelnExperience of building mathematical or ML data models, and working with Bayesian inference, Monte Carlo, Random Forest etc. modelsnExperience in data research with strong statistical skillsnExperience in software design and development using Python, Pandas and SQL / NoSQLnBeneficial knowledge of data science packages, sk-learn, scipy, tensorflow, etc.nAn understanding of the horse racing industry
