Job overview
The
Finance Assistant
will
work closely with the management accountants to learn all aspects of financial management across assigned entities. Under supervision and guidance complete the following tasks, taking on responsibility for smaller entities where appropriate.
Financial Reporting and ControlnAssist to prepare monthly management accounts;nAssist to ensure the management accounts are compliant with country/regional regulations;nAssist to Finance team to agree inter-company reconciliations;nAttend a month end meeting and discuss any issues with the monthly management accounts or reconciliations and work with the team to resolve any queries and agree how to close;nAssist with prepayments and loans;nAssist to prepare local payroll in line and final payment;nAssist to prepare monthly reports for the local teams and ad hoc reports as and when required;nAssist to prepare year end statutory accounts;nAssist to prepare information for internal and external audits.
Tax and CompliancenAssist to prepare tax returns;nAssist to complete reconciliation of tax information;nAssist to ensure tax is processed in line with regional requirement;nAssist to ensure manuals and procedures are kept up to date with any change in regional requirements or regulations;nAssist clear controls in place and followed to reduce errors.
Strategic Planning and Financial Planning & AnalysisnAssist to maintain controls to minimise risks;nAssist to prepare variance analysis of financial reports as requested.
Budgeting and ForecastingnAssist to prepare any information required to support with forecasting and budgets.
GeneralnAssist Project work;nOther tasks as and when required to support the Finance team;nMaintain up to date knowledge and identify learning opportunities.
Requirements
Educated to Graduate-level or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience;nAccounting knowledge;nAbility to learn new tasks and procedures quickly;nGood demonstrable knowledge of UK financial Regulations etc.;nAbility to analyse complicated data;nExceptional attention to detail;nGood command in Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint);nHigh standard of oral & written English is mandatory;nFluency in other European languages is desirable.
