We are actively seeking a proactive and determined Stock Control Manager to join the team, directly reporting to the Operations Manager. This crucial position is centered around effectively managing stock levels of accepted waste, ensuring operational compliance and maximising profitability. As a vital part of the team, you'll be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the Stock Control Administrator and Stock Control Chemist, helping to maintain the site’s efficiency and compliance with environmental and safety standards.
We are in partnership with a nationally acclaimed client within the environmental services sector, known for delivering professional waste management solutions across the UK. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced manager to contribute to their mission. Your responsibilities will involve close collaboration with internal teams, including Logistics, Health and Safety, and Technical Departments, to optimise stock levels and disposal processes, ensuring profitability and compliance. This position is ideal for someone looking to impact a growing company in an industry that values sustainability and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the approval and booking of incoming waste loads, maintaining appropriate storage capacity.
Regularly update and manage the onsite Stock Sheet and ensure outgoing waste dispatches are profitable and compliant with safety regulations.
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure the best disposal rates.
Conduct physical counts of stored waste, ensuring stock levels meet KPIs and regulatory standards.
Generate and manage IPOs, ensuring all disposals are profitable and documented.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure efficient waste disposal and compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in Chemistry or a related field preferred.
Ideally a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the waste sector.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and waste management legislation.
