Process Technician

The position is based in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral easily accessible by train and car. This is a full-time temporary role to run for 12 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £24,787.75 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.
This role is open to current Chemical Engineering undergraduate students on track for a least a 2:1, only.
The Sulphonation Industrial Placement Process Technician owns the performance data analytics, process parameters, plant optimisation and problem solving for the manufacturing process. They are responsible to identify and assist the top loss elimination in Cost, Waste, Energy, MTTF (Mean Time To Failure) reduction by forming specific improvement work streams. They are responsible for providing the right performance data for the make workflows and problem-solving sessions. They are responsible for building problem solving capability in operators.
Key AccountabilitiesnOwns Process performance data analytics for the plant.nProvides operational performance data for meetings.nSupports the ops team with further analytics for workflows and problem-solving sessions.nContributes to the process heat map for loss stratification and top loss identificationnContinuously drives the development of the performance analytics toolsnContributes to the centre lining settings process. This includes deployment, execution, reporting the KPI for meetings and continuous improvement of the processnWorks towards the development of the efficiency of the production process. This includes deployment, execution, reporting the KPI for meetings and continuous improvement of the processnContributes to the problem-solving process for the Sulphonation process.nProvides subject matter support to the leader team and operators.nContributes to Project delivery of Safety, Quality or Process improvements when required. Including updating P&IDs, input into HazOp studies and documentation for Management of Change.nSupports building problem solving capability in operatorsnCollaborate with Sulphonation lead team and operators on projectsnSupport the development and execution of distinct areas of the 90-day plan and weekly/monthly plansnSupports and leads problem solving sessions
Key RequirementsnMust be a current Chemical Engineering undergraduate student, on track for a minimum of a 2:1.nAble to visualize clearly what the ideal production system isnAble to clearly understand operating principles and establish correct operating standardsnAble to present findings and rationales clearly so that whole factory team can understandnAble to make logical decisions based on datanAble to prioritise effectively between daily losses (sporadic) and long term losses (Chronic)nBasic understanding of excel to present and visualise data
