CV34THE ROLEWorking with a talented team of Chartered, mid-level and graduate engineers their Structures Division are seeking a highly motivated, dedicated Senior Structural Engineer to support the Structures Team in their Warwick Office.The successful candidate will have sound experience in a wide variety of Structural Engineering projects and have experienced complex and challenging structural designs from conception to completion.Working on a broad range of structural projects, this high performing team of professionals are looking for an engineer who is aspiring to be a technically excellent design engineer. The projects are very diverse and generally challenging, incorporating bespoke new build structures, refurbishment and heritage works. One of their core values is re-use and sustainable engineering design.THE TEAMThey are a well-established practice with offices across the Midlands, operating since 1975. They have been providing high quality detailed technical design on projects UK wide. Their client base includes other professionals, such as architects, developers, fabricators and provide building owners. They specialise in Engineering Consultancy which demands solutions to complex and problematical schemes for a wide array of projects. in 2021 and many others.They are highly professional, highly collaborative and comradery.YOU WILL NEEDMinimum 2:1 BSc/BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalentAt least 7/8 years post qualification experience in civil and structural engineeringFull UK driving license and own transportChartered or near-chartered status with a relevant body (MICE or MIStructE)THE RESPONSIBILITIESDetailed knowledge of structural design and detailing using all relevant UK and European codes of practiceProducing preliminary design solutions and reviewing with clients as part of design strategyProducing detailed designs, calculations and specifications and technical reviewsAttendance at design, project progress, and client engagement meetingsLiaising with contractors, clients, third party organisations and stakeholders, answering queries in relation to technical detailingDesign in all forms of construction including steelwork, reinforced / precast concrete, masonry and timberStructural appraisals of commercial, industrial and residential structuresManagement of projects cost and programmeManagement of sustainability criteriaComplying with designers' duties under the CDM RegulationsProduce sketches, drawings and writing structural appraisal reportsKnowledge of BREEAM, sustainability objectives and embodied carbonSupervising the CAD/Revit technicians and junior engineers on technical / construction details and undertaking QA reviewsSelling, marketing and business development of existing clients and being alert to new leadsESSENTIALConfidence and ability with team and project managementAmbitious, committed, and with integrityGood experience of structural analysis and design softwareStrong attention to detail and accuracy of own work and that of others working with youAbility to supervise and develop a team whilst working as part of a wider teamBe proactive without supervisionClient focused approach with good interpersonal and communication skillsREMUNERATION AND BENEFITSWe value and promote a positive work-life balance and encourage every member of our team to get involved with community and company events.
