Role Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide personalized assistance to students with a range of additional needs. This role is essential in helping our students access the curriculum, develop their social skills, and achieve their personal goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies tailored to each student's needs.
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt and differentiate lesson materials and activities.
- Support students in developing their social, emotional, and communication skills.
- Monitor and record students' progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist with personal care and mobility needs, if required.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably in a school setting.
- Understanding of various special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
