About the Role:
Are you an experienced social worker passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people? Bromley Council is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Senior Social Worker to join our ATLAS Team. This pivotal role focuses on coordinating and enhancing safety for children and young people at risk of extra-familial (contextual) harm and those who go missing from home or care.
Key Responsibilities:
Safeguarding and Risk Management: Work closely with the Team Manager and Data Analyst to attend strategy meetings, collate risk assessments, and develop comprehensive safety plans for at-risk young people.
Collaboration: Liaise with various partners, including the Youth Offending Service, Police (Gangs, Missing, CSE, CCE), and the Rescue and Response Project, to ensure a holistic approach to safeguarding.
Intelligence Contribution: Participate in daily MASH meetings, providing valuable insights and intelligence to support the early identification and protection of young people.
Case Management: Oversee and support the coordination of interventions for children and young people known to the team, ensuring they receive appropriate and timely support.
MEGA Panel Involvement: Ensure all young people at medium or high risk are presented and tracked through the MEGA panel, working closely with the Team Manager to monitor their progress and safety.
About You:
Qualifications: A recognized social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
Experience: Significant experience in child protection, safeguarding, and working with children at risk of CSE, CCE, or serious youth violence.
Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multi-agency environment.
Commitment: A genuine passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people, with a proactive and resilient approach to challenging situations.
The ATLAS Team:
The ATLAS Team plays a critical role in safeguarding children and young people in Bromley. Comprising a Team Manager, three Return Home Interview Officers, a Data Analyst, a Business Support Officer, and a CSE Intervention Worker from the Asphaleia service, the team is dedicated to identifying and mitigating risks associated with extra-familial harm. By working closely with key partners and contributing to the MASH intelligence process, the team ensures early intervention and robust support mechanisms are in place.
