About the Role:
In this hands-on role, you'll play a vital role in keeping commercial vehicles on the road. You'll work on a variety of tasks, from repairs and maintenance to building and customizing new vehicles. We offer training and development opportunities to help you hone your skills and advance in your career.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain and repair a wide range of commercial vehicles, including trucks, trailers, and buses.
* Build and customize new commercial vehicles according to specifications.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and bodywork problems.
* Perform scheduled maintenance tasks to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
* Replace and repair components such as engines, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems.
* Work with various materials, including steel, aluminum, timber, and fiberglass.
* Ensure all work meets strict safety regulations and quality standards.
* Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
* Collaborate effectively with colleagues to complete projects on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a skilled or semi-skilled Commercial Vehicle Builder/Fitter/Repairer (a plus for experience in specific areas like bodywork or mechanical repair).
* Strong understanding of mechanical and bodywork principles.
* Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Strong eye for detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A valid driving license is preferred but not essential.
