ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a skilled Python Developer with a passion for application development to join our global technology team. As a Python Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust Python applications that meet our requirements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business users, software engineers and product managers, to create high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Python programming and a proven track record of delivering scalable and efficient applications.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, test, and maintain high-quality Python applications for various projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team BA’s and users to gather requirements, analyse user needs, and design effective software solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using best practices and coding standards.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to project guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and debug application issues to identify and resolve software defects.
  • Optimise application performance and scalability to meet project requirements.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in Python development and apply them to enhance the development process.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve development processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide timely updates on project progress.
  • Work towards the Strategic global data platform and iteratively implement and enhance applications.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven 5-10 years of experience as a Python Developer specialising in application development.
  • Experience in Commodities trading firm is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and its libraries/frameworks, test frame works.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns, FAST api and async io and multithreading.
  • Good understanding of Pandas.
  • Familiarity with middleware messaging like kafka.
  • Experience with database systems (SQL or NoSQL) and knowledge of SQL queries.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, JavaScript ) a plus
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (such as Git) and agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in distributed processing of large data set is a plus.
  • Experience with development in cloud platforms and familiarity with devops tools
  • Knowledge of containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with software testing frameworks and practices (unit testing, integration testing, etc.).
  • Contribution to open-source projects or personal coding projects is a plus.
