Principal Enterprise Architect - Pensions - Manchester Up to £125,000 base salary


My Client are a leading Life & Pensions brand and are seeking a Strong Principal Architect with Pensions experience to join their team based in Manchester.

The Principal Architect will lead the development and implementation of IT architecture strategies that support the unique needs of a closed book life and pensions organization. This role combines deep technical expertise, strategic foresight, and leadership to drive operational efficiency, manage technical debt, and support the business in achieving economies of scale while adhering to risk and control frameworks.

Key Skills & Qualifications

- Extensive experience in enterprise architecture, with a strong track record of aligning technology strategies with business goals.

- Proven expertise in managing large-scale IT transformations, particularly in acquisitive environments where system integration and scalability are critical.

-Understanding of legacy technologies including mainframe and monolithic platforms

-Experience of platform modernisation particularly cloud re- platforming and platform refactoring

- Deep understanding of closed book life and pensions operations, with experience addressing the unique commercial and technical challenges in this sector.

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

- In-depth knowledge of risk and control management within IT, ensuring that architectures adhere to regulatory, security, and compliance standards.
