Position: Permanent (On-site)
Location: Aldermaston

We are currently seeking a dedicated EHS Manager to join our major projects team in Aldermaston.  As an EHS Manager you will be required to proactively assist and support this major program and project delivery teams ensuring that they operate by the company and our client's health, safety, and environmental requirements; and ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
Responsibilities:
Development of the Project HSE Management Plans.
Plan, manage, monitor, and coordinate HSE during design, procurement, equipment installation & commissioning, pre-construction, construction & demolition works.
Take account of the health and safety risks to everyone affected by the work in planning and managing the measures needed to control them.
Liaise with the client CDM duty holders and stakeholders as appropriate, to ensure that all risks are effectively managed.
Prepare and implement a written Construction/Demolition Phase Plan before work begins, regularly review and revise as required to ensure compliance.
Help ensure that there are arrangements in place for managing health and safety throughout the program/projects.
Consult and engage with workers about their health, safety, and welfare.
Ensure suitable welfare facilities are provided from the start and maintained throughout
Ensure appointed all persons have the skills, knowledge, experience, and, where relevant, the organisational capability to carry out their work safely and without health risk.
Ensure all workers have site and project-specific inductions, and any further information and training they need.
Liaise with the client, principal designer, and relevant stakeholders to share any information relevant to the planning, management, monitoring, and coordination of the work
Inspection and auditing of work locations, contracts, and the supply chain.
Carry out incident investigations and prepare reports that detail root causes, corrections, and corrective actions.
Utilise the company’s incident reporting tool – IndustrySafe and Client ITRAC system
Assisting, when required, in the preparation of risk assessments and method statements in conjunction with operational management and sub-contractors
Review and appraise, when required, risk assessments, method statements, and related safety control documentation.
Deliver construction/demolition HSE briefings and training presentations.
Liaise with management and enforcing authorities on HSE compliance issues and the notification of accidents, incidents, and dangerous occurrences.
Develop and implement HSE objectives/KPIs in line with Programme and Project requirements
Ensuring that program/project teams are kept updated on relevant HSE legislation.
Maintenance of program/project HSE risk and compliance registers.
Monitoring and supporting the implementation of HSE policies, procedures, and instructions.
Experience:
Relevant engineering degree is preferred, or HND, BTec Professional Level 5 Award, or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications.
NEBOSH Certificate or higher
Experience working in the Defence or Nuclear Sectors is an advantage.
Trained and/or qualified in HSE auditing
Good knowledge of waste management legal requirements relevant to Construction/Demolition
It would be highly beneficial if the person had environmental credentials and experience
Proven 5 years experience working in a highly regulated industry.
Construction site experience in a key role.
Experience in preparing Construction Plans under CDM.
Experience in HSE management at the design stage and in supply chain activities.
Knowledge of ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 or ISO45001 management systems.
Meets requirements for SC security clearance including residence in the UK for at least the last 5 years.  Able to meet DV clearance.
Experience in auditing.
Candidates will need to be able to obtain and secure UK Security Clearance.
