Job Summary: To manage the system function within the depot, ensuring the depot automated systems run to optimum efficiency in accordance with company and system integrator guidelines.
As a member of the Depot Management team this role is expected to contribute to and lead
depot plans and initiatives, leading the way for staff to be able to understand the issues and
targets the depot has set out to achieve. The individual will have a proven tracks record of
driving efficiency and reducing waste, through automation. The role will be expected to
deputise for the Operations Managers in their absence.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage team performance within agreed KPIs and standards by ensuring the depot maintenance is completed to a high standard and submitted on time.
Responsible for ensuring that the Depot IT systems, automated picking systems and other electronic, electrical and mechanical equipment in the depot is maintained.
Monitor and manage budget/costs within area of responsibility to agreed budget/expenditure objectives.
Manage team development, ensuring all new system staff and inducted and trained to complete the requirements of their role. Interface with depot training and inductions facilitator to develop training plans.
Focus on continuous improvements, delivery of improvements in line with depot plans. development of ISO standards.
Responsible for managing the escalation of breakdowns.
Planning and managing designated resource to undertake the day to day work responsibilities to achieve service levels and key system performance targets within employment costs.
Monitor and manage absence levels within the team, following company guidelines and procedures.

Champion and actively engage colleagues in the adherence to GDP, proactively identify and resolving potential issues, develop and managing action plans to remedy and avoid non-compliance.
Support and lead the engineering team and external contractors.
Develop and maintain a good working relationship across all levels within the organisation and externally with suppliers.Requirements:
Apprenticeship / Electrical or Mechanical NVQ Lv3 or similar qualifications
Engineering Management or lead experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to disseminate information appropriately and communicate effectively with urgency and direction.
Proven track record in improving down time and increasing performance.
Contract management and maintenance reporting experience
PC skills - Word/Excel/Power-point - WMS/CMS experience required for management reporting
Basic employment law/absence management and G&D.
Health and Safety/Security legislation procedures.
Evident awareness of MHRA/GDP/ISO procedures.
Working knowledge and experience of compliance and regulatory audits.This role is a Monday to Friday days role 9am - 5pm However as the Engineering Manager you will be required to spend time on different shifts to observe operations and performance
