We are looking for a unique and dynamic candidate to be Programme Director for three days a week to manage and inspire the UAL Level 4 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design and our Higher Education provisions. 2024 sees the first year of the delivery of our Foundation Degree in Professional Business Practice, a course designed and created in the Visual Arts department with the University of Kent as an awarding body.
You will foster business skills in our students so they may go on to worthwhile employment in the Visual Art industries post study. You will have worked in the Visual Arts industries in any of its community and corporate applications and be passionate about bringing knowledge, skills and contacts into our thriving department to further motivate our students.
You will be familiar with the local Visual Arts industry and be able to lead a team in the delivery of this bespoke art and business course. You will also be conversant with Foundation Diplomas in Art and Design and work productively and positively within a department having a varied suite of engaging programmes for almost any level of creative learner
You will be highly organised, creative and be able to plan and teach engaging and innovative lessons with demonstrated interpersonal skills. You will be passionate about making a difference to the future careers of our students, providing academic leadership and guidance in this area and managing the curriculum delivery and accreditation. This is the ideal opportunity for a proven teacher or lecturer to progress their career to the next stage as you will oversee the curriculum provision from the beginning, building relationships with key stakeholders as well as delivering high quality teaching, learning and assessment. It will be a requirement to have two years of teaching experience and qualified teacher status for this position. Employees can move up the salary scale once you have worked as a Programme Director for our group for one entire academic year, subject to approval. Therefore, internal applicants may qualify for the higher salary scale, although should seek clarification.
