GSL Education is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic SEMH TA Sports coach to join our vibrant school community in Dinnington.
Job Summary
Providing direct support to students with special needs, helping them with academic tasks, and ensuring they understand the material.
Assisting the classroom teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment.
Engaging in ongoing professional development to stay informed about the latest strategies, techniques, and legal requirements related to special education.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, providing tailored support and interventions.
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging sports activities, fostering physical development and teamwork skills.
Assist teachers in managing classroom behaviour, supporting academic learning, and implementing individualized education plans.
Provide one-on-one and small group support to help students develop coping strategies and emotional regulation.
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support student progress and well-being.
The successful candidate will:
Previous experience working with SEMH students and a background in sports coaching.
Relevant qualifications in sports coaching and/or SEMH support. A teaching assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
Excellent communication, patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
A genuine passion for supporting the development and well-being of young people.
