Metering Technician (Alt HAN)
Role based throughout the Eastern side of the UK
Reporting to the Operations Delivery Manager (Alt-HAN), you will be responsible for various on-site duties as part of the Alt-HAN project. These includes but are not limited to:
* Conducting site surveys to identify works required to provide full smart functionality to the Meter Room(s)
* Carrying out rectification works on site, including the relocation of electric meters/customer equipment, installing/altering cable management assets such as trunking/trays, working with a variety of consumer cabling such as Steel wired amour cable
* Ensuring all work carried out on-site meets the required standards, in close coordination with the Quality Control Engineer and the wider Alt-HAN team.
MAIN ASSIGNMENTS
* Conduct Site Surveys and Rectification Works: Complete all assigned site surveys and rectification works to a high standard, prioritizing safety and compliance with industry regulations
* Ensure Compliance: Support the business in meeting its compliance requirements, including Alt HAN standards, BS7671, MOCOPA, ECA, and EUSR.
* Collaboration: Liaise effectively with the Quality Control Engineer and the wider Alt-HAN team to ensure work completion meets the required standards.
* Documentation: Provide clear, accurate technical sketches and photographs during site surveys to support the creation of digital drawings and highlight necessary rectification work.
* Evidence Submission: Ensure all completed work is documented and submitted to the back-office team through the appropriate applications and platforms.
* Adhere to Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Complete all work within the agreed-upon SLAs, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
* Safety Reporting: Report any dangerous occurrences or near misses encountered on-site in line with IMServ and the customer's Health and Safety policies.
* Customer Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with customers and site contacts throughout the various stages of work on-site
PERSON SPECIFICATION
* Proven knowledge of electrical metering, including experience with complex metering setups such as multi-rate, looped/crossed neutrals, etc.
* Strong understanding of health and safety practices in the electrical industry.
* Competent in applications such as MS Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
* Experience in a field-based role with a proven track record of independent work and decision-making.
* Full UK Driving License.
* Minimum 3 phase qualified
* 18th Edition (BS7671) qualified. - Training provided for candidates demonstrating the required level of competency
* Familiarity with AutoCAD software.
* Strong, clear communication skills, with the ability to interact at varying organizational levels.
* Ability to work in a complex environment with conflicting demands and make clear, consistent decisions.
* Ability to work in environments requiring adherence to stringent safety rules.
* Capable of working independently and taking ownership of tasks.
* Ability to receive feedback and adjust working practices as necessary.
* Willingness to regularly travel long distances and work away from home as required.
* Open to working flexible hours to meet job demands.
