TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist school in Cheltenham, supporting with their recruitment for a SEMH Learning Support Assistant / LSA. This specialist provision teaches chilren accross both Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2. with a primary diagnosis of SEMH / Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. The setting is centred on pupil’s development, as well as an intrinsic desire to make progress both academically and with their own emotional, social and behavioural skills.
The school is seeking a passionate team player to take on this short-term role, although there is potential for this to become a long-term placement for the right SEMH Learning Support Assistant / LSA. The successful SEMH Learning Support Assistant / LSA will bring a new dimension and skill set to this role, be keen to develop their own skills to adapt to the children’s individual needs and have a positive impact on the wider school.
The position will involve working with students across Key Stages 1 & 2 with diagnosis  SEMH / Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and associated challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.
The successful SEMH Learning Support Assistant / LSA will have:
· Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities
· Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours
· Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable
