As a

APPLICATIONS ENGINEER

you will;

a key player in supporting our sales team with converting opportunities into revenue across all products and services.nwill be apart of an Applications Engineering team of 6 plus an Applications Engineering Manager however, this role will gain exposure to working closely with Senior Management, Sales, Technical and Application teams.

CORE FUNCTIONS & OBLIGATIONS

Be the trusted partner of the customernDeliver technical solutions and roadmapsnDeliver technical presentationsnDeliver project costingsnManage tender deliverynSupport project teams during implementation phases with technical leadership.nActively build relationships with internal and external key stakeholders

CORE DELIVERABLES / OUTPUTS

Effectively communicate, present and sell the business products and services along with the full range of USP’s, including creating flow diagrams, 3D models, layouts and animations.nDevelop the best value technical solution to meet the customer’s needs.nDevelop roadmaps that take account of technical and commercial risk and ensure our proposed solution can be successfully delivered without undue risk to either us or the customer.nSupport the sales team during customer visits by providing technical presentation of the concept, features and benefits.nEvaluate and generate project costs and quote engineering change requests supporting the project’s dedicated Programme Manager, ensuring tenders are commercially viable and project schedule is maintained.nTake full ownership of the technical solution development, ensuring the validation process is followed and delivered.nDevelop specifications for the supply chain partners and ensure they operate in line with and demonstrate a clear understanding of our needs.nSupport the project teams during the implementation phases with strategic and technical leadership.nWork with all Mpac Lambert colleagues to ensure compliance with ISO14001, ISO9001 and OHSAS18001 and support a culture of Lean and Continuous Improvement by complying with appropriate Standard Operating Procedures.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.nAbility to communicate effectively at all levels adjusting approach or communication channel to suit the circumstances.nA proven, high level of understanding of general engineering, machine building processes and project Lifecycle.nThe ability to conceptualise complex and value added automation solutions, through application and development of innovative in-house processes and incorporating the best technology available.nTechnically competent with various software programs, such as Microsoft office, SolidWorks, AutoCAD etc.nStrong written and oral communication skills together with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills at all levels.

DESIRABLES BUT NOT NESSECITIES

Experience of operating at a senior strategic level with a proven, high level of commercial awareness.nDeveloped coaching and team management skills.nValid Driving Licence.nA relevant degree or be vocationally educated (HNC, HND, apprenticeship) in an Engineering discipline.nGood commercial acumen along and with an understanding of market pricing and competitor influence.
