Data Protection Manager

Our client is seeking a passionate and skilled Data Protection Manager to support their Head of Risk & Compliance in their Ipswich office. The successful candidate would be the sole Data Protection expert working alongside the Risk & Compliance team and would therefore be responsible for promoting and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations within the firm.
Key responsibilities of the role include…
- Ensuring firm compliance with DPA regulations and performing data audits for all areas of the firm to identify areas of non-compliance.
- Performing impact and risk assessments
- Creating training materials for new data standards
- Handling data subject requests
- Assessing prospective data breaches
To apply for this role you should…
- Ideally have 2+ years working in a data protection role in a legal/professional services environment
- Have solid knowledge of UK Data Protection regulations, as well as awareness of other data protection frameworks around the world
- Be a team player that can function autonomously
- Be able to confidently communicate with colleagues of varying levels of seniority
- Be organised, analytical, and capable of proactively providing support to fee-earners
