They are currently looking to strengthen their team with the recruitment of a Principle Power Electronics Engineer based at their North East site in Gateshead.

About the Principle Power Electronics Engineer
Reporting into the Power Electronics Director, the Principle Power Electronics Engineer will be responsible for the technical product development & optimisation of current and future products.
You will work across cross functional teams and departments, have a strong awareness of project management, and provide technical expertise, support and advice. You are expected to mentor other less experienced team members and provide advice when required.
Other requirements will include:
Provide detailed input to the design and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure the product meets all the requirements and make recommendations for product design changes.
Build strong and strategic relationships with customers and supply chain contacts. Providing technical competence, project escalation, and leading any follow up activities.
Provide technical leadership skills by leading & developing department processes.
Taking ownership of the whole product, providing project leading expertise within cross functional departments.
About You
As Principle Power Electronics Engineer, you will be a degree educated Engineer with extensive industrial experience. You will have strong time management skills and the ability to train and mentor fellow team members.
Other requirements will include:
Have a strong theoretical knowledge of power electronics, electrical machines and drives
High attention to detail and a flair for lateral thinking and looking at the bigger picture
You will demonstrate an outstanding degree of competence, understanding and knowledge across a diverse range of power electronics
Experience of working within automotive, commercial or rail sectors particularly within powertrain systems is advantageous
