Lead Electrician
- Full training to become a "Project Engineer" for world leading engineering company
- £40-£41k basic £6k car allowance / car, & bonus (£4k-£5k), company credit card, BUPA, iPhone & double pension & more
The Overview:
Are you're a senior electrical professional who has maybe hit a glass ceiling? Maybe tired of having to supervise a "gang of subbies" on projects? Or just fancy a change from being "hands on", in a role that is the next natural step in your career?
Fancy using all that knowledge to become a full "Project Engineer" for a world leading electrical manufacturer, running projects in sectors like rail, healthcare and manufacturing?
We have a track record of placing people in this company over the last 12 years all across the UK and - massively uncommon in 2024 - every single person (that's 21) are still there with 7 of these being promoted in to more senior roles. That alone tells its own story. It offers you the opportunity to be trained up on massively unique equipment (things you will not have come across before) which will undoubtedly further your career.
It's very, very rare this kind of an opportunity comes about, so we want someone who can grow in to a project role with a view to even larger career opportunities.
And with the basic salary, car allowance and bonus, this will easily clear £50k a year for you...
The role itself:
So what is the actual role itself? Well, this company have a team of Project Engineers across the UK and are now looking for someone who can run and manage another part of the projects in another part of the business - with a real focus on rail. But we're open to the sector you come from, as long as you have some sharp electrical experience and have an understanding of how projects work.
You will be trained up on all their equipment, with you usually working with directors of client companies and looking to build relationships. The role is also home based and you plan and manage your own days - so some real autonomy - with you being on site where needed.
About you:
Traditionally, we usually look to place electrical professionals who are looking to develop their skillset on bigger, more complex equipment or for people who have hit a "glass ceiling" where they are.
You must be able to read electrical diagrams and have ran projects in some capacity, but the reality is the equipment will be new and we want someone who wants to learn and develop their career.
Our client:
We have worked with some of the major electrical players in the world over the years, these are organisation the one that I have the most interest in from candidates historically. A multinational company who are present in every continent apart from Antarctica, but who are organically growing in the UK so as the feeling of a growing SME (expanded by 25% in the last 4 years) in the UK which gives it a unique feel.
They manufacture their own electrical equipment which is provided in to numerous sectors across the world and have to train new staff up around such equipment - complex stuff and things that will be completely new to your skill set.
What next:
If this seems like an opportunity that appeals, send your CV through and I will be more than happy to go through this in more detail
