This role offers a fixed-term contract for 6 months , with potential for conversion to a permanent position.  

 

Job purpose  

Thomas Cook Tourism is a Digital Only Online Travel Agent focused on selling Dynamic Packages, Hotel Only and Ancillary product through the B2C platform ( We are a multi-disciplinary team of experts across Architecture, Engineering, DevSecOps and Agile Delivery providing services across the UK and Europe.  

 

Key accountabilities  

  • Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications. 
  • Develop and maintain .NET applications, ensuring optimal performance and scalability. 
  • Utilise Azure services for building and managing cloud-based applications (SQL DB, App Services, Azure FrontDoor, SignalR). 
  • Implement efficient data ingestion and indexing pipelines for Elasticsearch. 
  • Design, construct, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C# code. 
  • Make necessary infrastructural changes to ensure successful application deployment. 
  • Develop required endpoints, create secure authentication and authorization protocols, and build reusable components. 
  • Skills and Qualifications: 

 

Skills, knowledge, and experience  

  • Proven experience of 1-3 years as a Mid-Level .NET Developer with a robust portfolio of .NET-based projects. 
  • Proficiency in C# with a strong understanding of its ecosystems. 
  • Familiarity with various design and architectural patterns. 
  • Ability to write clean, readable C# code. 
  • Understanding of fundamental design principles for scalable applications. 
  • Experience implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests. 
  • Proficiency in C# and .NET technologies, implementing applications using defensive programming. 
  • Experience with SignalR and Elasticsearch. 
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools and methodologies (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps). 
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform. 
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. 
  • Hands-on experience with application deployment patterns and tools. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Can-do attitude and natural inclination towards innovation.
