As English Teacher at Wings Notts School, you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will plan, assess and deliver outstanding teaching and learning using proven methods and approaches that enable our young people to learn, whilst ensuring that pastoral needs are also met. You will establish excellent relationships and inspire trust and confidence in pupils, colleagues, families and other professionals.
About you:
We very much welcome applications from qualified teachers working in mainstream settings who are looking to move into special education and gain experience working with children with social, emotional and mental health needs and autism spectrum condition. QTS (or QTLS) is essential. With a proven ability to deliver high quality, lively and effective primary/secondary teaching, which engages and motivates young people, you’ll be someone who has a passion for supporting them to learn and develop, and you’ll want to make a difference to the lives and education of our children and young people. You will have experience of teaching English GCSE and Functional Skills, leading phonics and guided reading. About us:
Wings School Notts, part of Kedleston Group Limited, is an independent specialist day school and children’s home in Newark for children and young people aged between the ages of 9 and 17. Children who have social and emotional needs (SEMH), autism (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), attachment needs, childhood trauma or other specific learning difficulties thrive at Wings School Notts and we have received four 'Outstanding' Ofsted Social Care gradings in a row, with Ofsted saying "The children’s home provides highly effective services that consistently exceed the standards of good."
