As an Apprenticeship Assessor, you’ll have a unique role supporting the British Army by ensuring the proper maintenance and readiness of their extensive fleet ranging from quad bikes and generators to main battle tanks, and weapons from pistols to cannons. Your day-to-day activities will involve visiting Vehicle Mechanic learners at their workplaces, leveraging your vocational experience to deliver learning, coaching, assessment, and support to help them achieve their apprenticeships.
Are you confident with Mechanical Fault Finding without the use of diagnostic tools? We are looking for someone with a varied background of working with vehicles such as light, heavy and plant machinery who is ready to take the next steps in sharing their expertise with the next generation of Vehicle Mechanics. Don't have a background in assessing? No problem- the company will put you through a 12 week course to gain your Assessing qualification, strengthening your skills.
South East with travel- Folkstone, Maidstone, Southampton, Chichester, Aldershot, Windsor and Sandhurst
Key Responsibilities of the Apprenticeship Assessor:
Support, motivate, and coach learners through their apprenticeship programme.
Monitor and review learners' progress according to customer expectations.
Complete required documentation to the correct standards within agreed timelines.
Provide portfolio-building advice and guidance based on programme requirements.
Record, plan, and track individual learner progress effectively using agreed paperwork and reporting processes.
Essential Experience of the Apprenticeship Assessor:
Considerable experience in the vehicle mechanic field- mainly with mechanical fault finding
Relevant industry-related qualification (Vehicle Mechanic minimum of Level 3).
Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (desirable).
Maths and English – GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent).
Security Clearance:
Must achieve and maintain SC security clearance, Enhanced DBS, and Child Barring Service clearance.
