Location: Crewe
Contract length: 12 months
Outside IR35
100% onsite with some UK and international travel
Whole Vehicle Analysis Engineer - Infotainment required to join a luxury and performance automotive manufacturer based in Crewe on a contracting basis.

As the Whole Vehicle Analysis Engineer - Infotainment, you will be responsible for infotainment vehicle evaluation and testing of pre-series vehicles in static and dynamic conditions for customer-focused evaluation.
Whole Vehicle Analysis Engineer - Infotainment Key Duties:
Analysis and reporting of functional defects identified during the reliability testing process.
Defining vehicle technical requirements and test profiles.
Defining test methodology appropriate to identifying functional product defects in pre-series vehicles.
Tasks:
Analysis of issues and verification of solutions:
Respond to issues raised by reliability testing stations via the Quality Whole Vehicle system ALPOS, compile a problem statement, determine the probable point of cause, and assess the issue for escalation/allocation to an appropriate problem owner via KPM.
Interpret, analyse, and summarize logged traces of complex vehicle bus data to enable robust functional problem statements prior to allocating to problem owner via KPM.
Proactively monitor the status of reliability issues reported in KPMs and ensure solutions are adequately verified to enable closure.
Escalate/prioritize issues with potential high customer/warranty impact within functions and forums to Board level.
Defining testing and release criteria:
Utilise expert knowledge of customer usage profiles by market and model, together with relevant Engineering functional standards, to specify appropriate reliability testing criteria and vehicle usage profiles to identify potential functional defects in pre-series cars with high impact implications for warranty and customer dissatisfaction.
Ensure the standard reliability profiles adopted by the reliability testing stations cover different operating scenarios.
Specify required special testing procedures focused on verifying specific functional performance of features to customer expectations (SoPro’s).
Release events (B-MAF/KAF):
Perform expert static and dynamic assessment of drive event vehicles.
Critically assess all issues raised during the event preparation drive and propose a list of critical issues to be reported to the board in the event documentation.
Prepare documentation for drive event.
Specific Information for the Role:
Analysis of incoming ALPOS system concerns: 300 per annum.
Processing of ALPOS concerns into the KPM system: 100 per annum.
Whole Vehicle Analysis Engineer - Infotainment Skills Required:
Strong infotainment knowledge & experience with an electrical background.
Strong whole vehicle assessment skills.
Strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills.
Effective presentation and communication of technical problems to all levels up to Members of the Board.
Excellent team working and influencing skills using data.
Willingness to be flexible to meet frequently changing priorities.
Ability to lead complex problem-solving teams.
Ability to influence problem owners and suppliers within the VW Group within area of technical responsibility.
Advanced knowledge of vehicle development and industrialization within area of specialism.
Ability to apply knowledge of customer behavior and expectations to develop vehicle test requirements.
Ability to gather and interrogate vehicle electrical network data to identify problem root cause.
Proficient understanding of Product Emergence Process.
Other Information:
Advanced knowledge of problem-solving tools.
Data analysis skills - ODIS, VAS, MDF viewer (data logger analysis tools) & MDA.
Qualifications:
Engineering degree or equivalent in electrical, electronic, or automotive engineering.
Associate membership of a relevant professional institution preferable.
Current driving license.
