Lead Engineer – Investment Finance (Java & Cloud) City of London | £145,000–£155,000 | 4 Days in the office We’re working with a prestigious investment finance organisation in the heart of the City of London, seeking a dynamic and technically astute Lead Engineer to drive innovation across both cloud infrastructure and application engineering. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in high-performance environments, combining deep Java expertise with modern cloud architecture (AWS/GCP/Azure). You’ll be instrumental in shaping scalable, secure systems that underpin critical financial operations. What You’ll Be Doing Leading the design and development of robust Java-based applications for investment platforms Architecting and deploying cloud-native solutions across hybrid environments Collaborating with DevOps, Security, and Product teams to ensure seamless delivery Mentoring and championing best practices in across the technology stack Driving performance, scalability, and resilience across the tech environments What We’re Looking For Proven experience in Java (Spring Boot, microservices, multithreading) Strong cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS,GCP,Azure) Solid understanding of CI/CD, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code Experience in financial services or investment platforms is a strong plus (not mandated) Leadership qualities with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset What’s On Offer Base salary: £135,000–£155,000 depending on experience Package Office-based 4 days/week in a collaborative, high-trust environment Exposure to cutting-edge finance tech and strategic projects If you're a seasoned engineer ready to lead from the front and shape the future of investment technology, we’d love to hear from you.
