High-growth BCorp is seeking an Azure DevOps Engineer to join a newly formed team. This is a great opportunity to bring your Azure and Terraform expertise to an ambitious and welcoming team planning to do great things.


Largely remote working with 1-2 days per month in the London office for purposeful and constructive team days. Would suit someone in the South East for this reason.


The purpose of the role is to enable faster and more consistent delivery of software by utilising standardised tooling and building better infrastructure that supports software engineers in their work.


Responsibilities

  • Cloud Infrastructure Management with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Utilising Terraform to design, implement, and manage infrastructure in Azure.
  • Creating and managing CI/CD pipelines to automate code integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Automating repetitive tasks to streamline the software delivery process.
  • Facilitating communication and collaboration between development, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth software delivery.
  • Providing support and troubleshooting issues related to applications, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Implementing monitoring, logging, alerts, and dashboards to track the performance and health of applications and infrastructure.
  • Ensuring that security and compliance are fully embedded.
  • Ensuring documentation is kept up to date.


Essential skills and experience

  • Team player with a desire to learn and share knowledge and best practice with team.
  • Strong knowledge of Terraform and associated best practices
  • Firm understanding of Azure concepts and resource management
  • Writing CI/CD pipelines with templates in e.g. Azure DevOps, GitLab CI
  • Shell scripting e.g. Bash/PowerShell
  • Orchestration and configuration of virtual machines on Windows Server/Linux
  • Logging, monitoring and alerting using e.g. Better Stack, Prometheus, Data Dog, Elastic
  • Dashboarding using e.g. Grafana
  • Version control using Git and hosted Git services e.g. Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab
  • Secrets management using e.g. HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault
  • Least privilege security principles


Desirable skills and experience

  • Landing zone architecture
  • Experience with Azure DevOps
  • Wider programming skills in languages like C#, Golang, Python etc.
  • Experience in a support rota carrying out triage, troubleshooting and root cause analysis
