Responsibilities:
Set up the CNC machines to produce the required part as per drawing
Book onto job
Set up tools and load materials onto the machine.
Download the program onto the CNC machine.
Working from a drawing / model / code check the programme
Operate the CNC machine and analyse the processes consult and adjust as required
Examine and modify programmes
Prove out processes
Undertake first-off inspection
Take accurate measurements of work pieces and ensure that the quality is good throughout the batch
Check for movement or tool wear
Overcome production and manufacturing problems, referring up to Team Leader when necessary
Liaise with team leader to ensure most effective and efficient methods are used.
Responsible for housekeeping of working area
Report to manager regarding tooling and material issues
Efficient time management (i.e. whilst machine is running).
Conduct finishing processes e.g. Deburring, tapping, polishing
Tidy work area
Ask team leader to allocate assistance to another engineer / task
Make tea/coffee loo breaks during running times
Save proven programme to server
Book off job
Adhere to H&S
Conduct oneself with integrity (always doing the right thing even when no one is looking)
Collaborate for success (teamwork)
