We are currently recruiting an experienced EHV Estimator to join our Estimating/Business Development team. Working alongside our Business Development Managers, you will play a vital role in creating leading bids for a range of projects across the Renewables and I&C sectors.


This is a key appointment for eSmart Networks that will contribute significantly to the next phase of the company’s growth. The ideal candidate must have experience in a similar role within the I&C and/or Renewables sectors.

Our Head Office is based in Braintree, Essex, but we would consider this role as a remote position with monthly office visits.


So what will you be doing?

Delivering market-leading service to both internal and external customers, the successful candidate will use their exceptional customer service, commercial, and relationship management skills to identify customers' needs and present competitive proposals across the I&C and Renewable sectors.


You will also:

  • Identify detailed customer needs through the bid process and ensure any bid proposal clearly identifies the proposed solution.
  • Provide guidance on bid positioning to ensure maximum margin while maintaining the required win ratio.
  • Secure profitable, deliverable orders that fully comply with eSmart trading practices and terms and conditions.
  • Attend pre-commencement customer project meetings where required.
  • Work closely with the procurement teams to identify early project-specific requirements, including supply chain, sub-contractors, and procurement of supplies.


The Person

To excel in this role, the successful candidate must have experience within an Estimating / Cost Control role within our industry. Bringing your wealth of knowledge, we are also looking for someone with strong organisation skills and commercial awareness.


Additionally, we seek:

  • Knowledge of JCT & NEC3 and other forms of contract terms and conditions (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Estimating methodologies, design and techniques within LV, HV and EHV
  • Understanding on POC applications for different DNO’s
  • Understanding of IDNO philosophy, adoptions and asset values.
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office suite (specifically Excel)
