The Opportunity-Are you an experienced Head of Quality / Senior Quality Manager?-Do you enjoy working and have experience using your skills within a high-technology Manufacturing environment?-Would you like to join one of the UK’s leading developers of new Battery technology at their state-of-the-art UK Manufacturing facility in the West Midlands?If your answer is “yes” to these three questions, please kindly read on……..Our Client is one of the UK’s leading pioneers in the race to develop and manufacture the latest Battery technology for industry, with an initial primary focus on supporting our ever growing Automotive manufacturing sector (but not exclusively), ensuring that there will be a brighter and greener future for us all.Working from state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in the West Midlands, it is our pleasure to now be partnering our Client to help develop, build and nurture their team with only the very best talentAs part of this growth, we are now actively seeking an experienced Head of Quality on a permanent basis – someone who can lead the effective management of quality with a focus on customer satisfaction.On offer to the successful candidate is not only a fantastic brand new manufacturing facility within which to work, but also a highly competitive “senior level” salary, together with great benefits and a lucrative car allowance scheme.Your duties and responsibilities will be:Develop and maintain systems and procedures for effective management of Environmental and Health & Safety across the site.Ensure that the Midlands facility continually scores highly on customer assessments with respect to delivered quality.Provide and apply appropriate Quality systems and root cause analysis to react to quality concerns in a manner that results in an enhanced reputation with the customer.Assist, guide and, if necessary direct site personnel on safe working practices including operational, machine and equipment safety.Develop and maintain systems, procedures and programmes for the effective management of H&S on site, ensuring compliance with H&S legislation and regulations applicable to the business and report as necessary to the regulatory authority (HSE).You will have the following qualifications & experience:Should ideally have a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Chemistry, Physics, Systems, or Chemical Engineering, although plenty of relevant experience might be considered.You will be an experienced and talented Head of Quality / Senior Quality Manager who offers multiple years’ experience working in a similar role within a manufacturing environment; ideally the Automotive industry or similar.You should have knowledge of APQP in particular, FMEA Control plans, MSA and capability studies.Lean Manufacturing knowledge is required, together ideally with six sigma, 8D or similar methodology.You should have a knowledge of IATF16949, ISO9001, or IS/EN9100.An individual with a proven track record in a front-line Quality role most likely within a manufacturing environment who can lead a team is needed here.You should offer strong customer-facing experience.Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, together with strong negotiation and people management skills.You will have the ability to present data effectively and will have good problem-solving and analytical skills.You should have a good grasp of Microsoft office suite.It’s great if you also have the following:Experience working with Battery Cell technologies / Energy Storage or similar technologies would be a bonus, but this isn’t essential.Knowledge in the use of Minitab or other analytical software.This position is available with immediate effect.To APPLY, please contact Jason Seed DipRP, DipRSA, FIRP; Director of Forbes HR Ltd.Millbank Holdings Ltd is an equal opportunities employer and respects diversity.
