Elite have partnered with an iconic high-street brand, seeking a highly motivated and experienced Footwear Buyer to join their team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the buying strategy for their footwear category. This role requires a deep understanding of market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape in the footwear industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive buying strategy for own brand footwear, in line with company objectives and budget constraints.
- Deliver a balanced commercial range, which reflects the integrity of the brand and delivers a continuous sales and profit growth in line with company strategy.
- Conduct market research to identify new trends, styles, and materials in the footwear industry.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and pricing agreements.
- Collaborate with design and product development teams to create innovative and marketable footwear collections.
- Monitor sales performance and inventory levels to optimize product assortment and maximize profitability.
- Analyze sales data and consumer feedback to make informed decisions on product assortment and pricing.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify opportunities for growth.
- Travel to trade shows, supplier meetings, and retail locations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in buying, ideally in a footwear or accessories category.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proven track record of building successful relationships with suppliers and driving sales growth.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
