The role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with students who have special educational needs.
Your role involves providing individualised support to help them learn and progress
Assisting with Day-to-Day Activities: Beyond academics, you'll also assist students with their day-to-day activities. This could include anything from helping them navigate the school environment to supporting their social interactions
You'll collaborate with classroom teachers, sharing insights about each student's needs and progress. Effective communication and teamwork are essential
SEN students have diverse learning styles. Your ability to adapt teaching methods to suit each student's needs is crucial
You'll contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student feels valued and includedQualifications and Skills:
Prior experience working with SEN students is a must. This familiarity equips you to understand their unique challenges and tailor your support accordingly
Patience and empathy are essential qualities. Building trust with students and helping them overcome obstacles requires a compassionate approach
Familiarity with strategies for supporting SEN students, such as visual aids, sensory tools, and differentiated instruction, will enhance your effectiveness
Being attentive to student's cues and understanding nonverbal communication helps you provide timely assistance
