Commissioning Engineer


Coalesce Management Consulting are looking for a Commissioning Engineer to work with one of our key clients, on a remote basis, with travel across multiple UK locations. This is an initial 12 month contract, Outside IR35.


The right candidate will report to the Commissioning Manager and can be based remotely but will require travel anywhere from 50% of the time.


Description / Responsibilities / Requirements:

  • Makes sure that all site testing, commissioning, and instillation are completed to the highest standards of health and safety and quality.
  • Testing / commissioning of substation equipment, making sure that agreed work is in line with time scales and budgets.
  • Preparing and issuing site documentation (inc. RAMS, NCRs, TQs etc)
  • Identifying and communicating any issues to site and project engineer
  • Test, commission and service installed primary and secondary equipment during construction and in-service substation operations
  • Accountable for accurate test records, reports and quality documentation
  • Able to work on offshore wind farms
  • UK driving license
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience with: testing and commissioning and HV Power systems equipment, SCADA systems, site experience, working at height, working in a construction environment.
  • Experience of IEC61850 protocol, Modbus, IEC101, IEC 104 and IEC103.
  • Knowledge and experience of construction and field services site work
  • Fault finding
  • Experience in testing and Commissioning of substation equipment (Generation, transmission and distribution).
  • HV substation environment experience
