This is a great opportunity for an experienced mechanical design engineer at the Associate level to work within a well-known consultancy, working on a diverse project portfolio.nYou should have the ability to lead projects, engage and effectively communicate with key clients, and actively contribute to and manage the delivery of mechanical engineering projects within the building space. You'll join a forward-thinking team, work in a collaborative environment, and will be given opportunities to make real contributions to the company.

ResponsibilitiesnLead projects and manage key clientsnAssist the mechanical team in tendering projectsnWork effectively alone and as part of the wider MEP teamnMentor Junior StaffnUndertake Mechanical Building Services designnPreparation of design calculations in line with industry standards, regulatory compliance, and best practices.nPreparation of technical specifications, tender documentation, and technical reports.nChecking design calculations, design drawings and specifications prepared by others on a variety of projectsnSite surveys and inspectionsnManage own workload and the workload of othersnMonitor site worksnPreparing and managing fee budgetsnCoordination of services, with a sound understanding of the interfaces and interactions between services, architecture, and structure of buildings.nEnsure mechanical design quality is maintainednEnsure delivery of projects within time to budgetnResource management across the mechanical packagenDesired Skills & ExperiencenRequirementsnMinimum BEng or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering-related subject/suitable equivalent experience.nA high level of technical skill in mechanical building services is essential.nExceptional skill and knowledge of working in a design consultancy - experience of working within a contractor environment is additionally welcome.nSignificant experience in the production of the Mechanical design across all RIBA Stages 0 to 7, and public health experience would be beneficial.nCapable of accurate work under pressure and able to work on several projects simultaneously.nAble to understand and express technical concepts effectively both in writing and verbally to clients and team members at various levels of technical understanding.nAble to innovate new solutions as well as apply existing solutions to problems, able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way.nGood report-writing skills and experience in making presentations to and attending meetings with clients and other designers are essential.nThe ability to be willing to be mobile, and travel within the UK and abroad for project-related work would be beneficial.nGood level of computer literacy in Windows, Hevacomp, IES, NBS and Microsoft packages – and a working understanding of AutoCAD/Revit is beneficial.
