Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

About the Role: Join our dedicated team at an SEMH school in Ellesmere Port, where every day is an opportunity to inspire and empower students with diverse needs. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting the educational and emotional development of children facing SEMH challenges. From one-on-one support to classroom assistance, your role will be dynamic, rewarding, and essential to creating a nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, fostering their academic and personal growth.
Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons that cater to individual learning styles and abilities.
Promote positive behaviour management techniques, helping students develop crucial social and emotional skills.
Collaborate with fellow staff members, parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for every student.
Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where all children feel valued and respected.Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, preferably in an SEMH setting.
Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient approach to supporting students' diverse needs.
Ability to adapt to challenging situations with resilience and creativity, maintaining a positive attitude at all times.
Relevant qualifications or training in SEN education or related fields (desirable but not essential).
Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one.To be considered for this position you will:
- have previous school experience and be familiar with the SIMS system
- Be a committed professional
- Be an organised, enthusiastic proactive person
-Hold a child workforce enhanced DBS certificate which is on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one (costs refunded back to you when you complete 20 days work)
-have satisfactory references
-have a CV must that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any gaps in employment must be explained;
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
