The Mechanical Engineer III serves as Lead Engineer on facility projects, overseeing mechanical system design from concept through commissioning. This role guides engineers and designers, manages budgets and schedules, and interfaces directly with project managers, clients, and permitting authorities. Key Responsibilities: Lead mechanical design and engineering efforts across full project lifecycle Review and validate engineering calculations, drawings, and documentation Perform hydraulic, thermal, and code compliance calculations Design and specify piping, ductwork, and mechanical equipment Develop P&IDs and general arrangement layouts Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and electrical engineers Conduct inspections, support commissioning, and assist with operator training Travel (5–20%) for site visits, installations, and startups Ensure safety compliance and foster team collaboration Qualifications: Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering 5–10 years of mechanical engineering experience Strong design, specification, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in pumps, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and relief devices Hands-on mechanical aptitude and time management ability Excellent communication and collaboration skills Familiarity with Microsoft Windows programs Valid driver’s license required
