Mechanical Fitter
Overall Purpose: To undertake diagnostic fault finding and installation on vehicles to a consistently high standard.
Main Responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter:
* To carry out diagnostic fault finding on vehicles.
* To fit racking, on board power and other auxiliary equipment as instructed.
* To complete installations on vehicles to a consistently high standard.
* Follow all instructions including technical instructions exactly.
* The Mechanical Fitter will work in accordance with health and safety regulations at all times.
* To attend training as required.
* To become multi skilled and assist in other areas as and when requested.
* To have a fully equipped tool kit at all times
* Any other reasonable request that may or may not be directly related to the job role as indicated above.
Knowledge and Experience
* Three years mechanical experience and/or a formal mechanical qualification is essential for this job as are excellent problem solving skills
Circumstances
* The ability to lift heavy objects on a regular basis and dexterousness ar essential to this role.
* The Job Holder must possess a full clean driving license

* The Ability to work on own initiative without supervision
* A team worker who is prepared to assist in other areas when requested
* Flexibility; a willingness to ‘get stuck in’ and adapt to changing demands and plans
* Problem solving skills
* Communication skills are essential as the need to understand and follow technical instructions are vital to this role
This is a key role to the business, and requires an individual who is polite toward all internal and external customers and has the ability to comply with Health and Safety Regulations
