Purpose of the role as a Project Engineer Mec Bias:
To provide support, knowledge and expertise in all engineering matters with a bias to mechanical services, for the portfolio of projects delivered by the Estates Capital Projects team. This portfolio includes the programme of NT Infrastructure Upgrade projects to be delivered by March 2026.
The role will act as a point of contact for Contractors, Designers, NT Project Managers, external Project Managers and the Programme Manager for engineering related queries, design information, specification queries, co-ordination matters, investigations, surveys and liaison with the Facilities team as a project engineer (who are responsible for providing engineering services to Business As Usual operations).
The successful candidate as a project engineer will have the following:
* Demonstrable relevant experience as a Project Engineer (Mechanical Bias) working on a portfolio of building, infrastructure, or construction projects.
* Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with internal NT stakeholders, external consultants and contractors
* An understanding of the Building Regulations, construction standards CDM, COSHH, Manual Handling and quality assurance
* A recognised mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent with qualifications to degree level or HNC
* Demonstrable knowledge of commonplace mechanical engineering infrastructure and systems
