A specialist company in fire safety solutions is seeking an experienced Sprinkler Design Engineer. This role involves designing, installing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems for both commercial and residential clients, ensuring compliance with relevant fire safety legislation.
Purpose of the Role:
The Sprinkler Design Engineer will oversee all design activities for projects and small works, ensuring compliance with standards such as BS9251 and BSEN12845, as well as health and safety requirements. This key role provides technical support across sales, operations, and service departments, and helps maintain business accreditations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage all design and technical aspects of projects and small works.
* Oversee design and compliance processes from sale to completion.
* Serve as the internal technical liaison across departments.
* Attend project design meetings and represent the company at customer sites.
* Lead customer teleconferences, visits, audits, and provide timely reports.
* Interact with accreditation bodies (IFC, LPC) and manage design-related compliance audits.
* Create and deliver design drawings as required.
* Advise the Board of Directors on non-compliance issues, design workload, and industry updates.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Over five years of industry experience.
* Basic Design LPC/BS Qualification.
* Strong understanding of relevant sprinkler standards (LPC, BS, FM).
* Comprehensive industry knowledge and health and safety management.
* Strong management, leadership, and customer-facing skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Creative problem-solving abilities.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
