Biology Teacher

We are currently working with an Independent Secondary School, looking for a Biology Teacher to teach Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
The department is looking for someone who can support and nurture high achieving students, and who will be able to cater to A level pupils at a high standard.
This is a full time post, to start ASAP for the Summer term (estimated contract end date 5th of June 2024).
Key Duties and Responsibilities Include:
* Teach KS3 science, IGCSE Biology and OCR A level Biology
* Take on departmental duties and responsibilities when allocated by the Head of Biology
* Share in departmental best practice
* Make a contribution to the super-curricular Biology programme (e.g. dissection, Biology Olympiad and science club)
* Engage in extra-curricular biology with a combination of field trips and visits to institutions
* Willingness to invest extra time to ensure students achieve the best standard
The Succesful Candidate will have:
* An excellent degree in Biology (or cognate subject) from a recognised university
* Experience in teaching Biology across the age range and more general science to Key Stage Three
* A strong interest in, and knowledge of the latest pedagogy
* An awareness of current trends and challenges in teaching Biology
* Strong organisation skills
* Ability to use a range of teaching strategies to enthuse the full range of abilities
* Ability to communicate with pupils in a lively and enthusiastic manner
* Excellent classroom practitioner
* Good time management and organisation skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Commitment to improve teaching and learning, and continued professional development
* Ability to work well as part of a team, and to build trust and openness
* Discretion, courtesy, honesty and integrity
* Reliable, punctual, diligent and well-organised
* Open-minded and forward thinking approach to the positive use of technology in education
* Passion, Enthusiasm, and ability to motivate and inspire students
* Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of students
* Willingness to be involved in the wider life of the school
Other Information:
* A full, enhanced DBS is essential
* UK QTS/recognised teaching qualification is desirable but not essential
