General Manager | Secondary Packaging | West Midlands | £110k - £120k

Dedicated to excellence and client fulfilment, the company excels in creating and producing premium packaging suited for various sectors including retail, e-commerce, food and beverage, and industrial. The company is celebrated for its exceptional customer service and its ability to provide robust, effective, and visually appealing packaging solutions.

As General Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Leading, motivating, and developing a high-performing team to achieve excellent results
  • Managing daily operations while being actively involved in strategic planning and execution
  • Overseeing the entire production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
  • Ensure all machinery and equipment are at peak operational performance and integrate innovative technological solutions
  • Fostering a 'can-do' attitude within the team, encouraging proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement

Key attributes required:

  • Proven experience in the packaging industry. Knowledge of the technical aspects of secondary packaging production desirable, market trends, and the regulatory environment is essential
  • Experience in managing staff across different levels of production, overseeing performance, and fostering a collaborative and positive work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to streamline production processes, enhance productivity, and ensure the quality of the final products. Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies beneficial
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with a proven track record of successfully implementing business strategies
  • A 'can-do' attitude and an aptitude for adapting to change and problem solving technological advancements in machinery and production techniques
