Our Infection Science Team operates across Microbiology, Virology and Molecular testing and we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our team. This position is based in virology and molecular testing, working in a laboratory which takes a leading technological approach with state-of-the-art automated track and analytical systems. The department primarily supports clinical pathology testing for the local NHS trust and primary care providers. We also support private contracts (predominantly sexual health-based testing) that enable our clients' customers to have access to on-line sexual health services.

If you have the following qualifications and skills and feel that you could 'hit the ground running' then we'd love to hear from you:
Experience post HCPC registration working in a Clinical Infection Science laboratory at post graduate level in a busy Virology / Serology/ Molecular department.
Good working knowledge and hands on experience working with automated serology and molecular testing platforms such as Beckman Coulter DxI, AU5800, Roche, Hologic and GeneXpert.
A strong virology / serology background including knowledge of screening programmes such as Infectious Diseases in Pregnancy.
A good understanding of Sexual Health Testing processes.To operate at Band 6, you will also demonstrate experience to post graduate diploma level e.g.: Specialist portfolio. We will also consider Band 5 applicants looking to complete a specialist portfolio.
